Die Aufrechte Lupe for Paderborn

Local politics decides what you see every day: roads, schools, fees, building land. Here we examine it by the same rules as everything else.

ABOUT US

What we are

We are the Paderborn part of Die Aufrechte Lupe. The same editorial team, the same method, the same source standard. Only the section is narrower: what stands here concerns this city and its district.

We belong to no party, no parliamentary group, no citizens’ initiative and no association. We tell nobody what to vote or what to think. We put the documents on the table and write down what is in them and what is not.

Local politics is rarely loud and almost always open to checking. Council papers, budgets, by-laws and audit reports are public. Anyone who reads them needs no opinion from us to form one of their own.

METHOD

How we work

Every report takes the same path: claim, source, data, context, rating. The sources stand beneath the text, not in the small print, and every figure in the text leads to the place where it stands.

Fact, context and opinion stay apart. Above every headline it says what you are reading: background or opinion. An opinion piece carries a name and a disclosure.

Corrections are public. We overwrite nothing quietly. Every material change appears with its date beneath the piece: what was wrong, what was changed and why.

Videos do not replace a report. They summarise what the text evidences with sources. Anyone who wants it exactly will find the matching report under every video.
